McLaren provides support staff to assist program participants who may need to access community resources from time to time. McLaren believes in ensuring people remain in housing which is suitable for their health and well being.
Stable housing is the key to helping people stay healthy. Stress related to homelessness and poverty can often exacerbate symptoms and accelerate disease progression. Having a home with access to water, food and refrigeration can make following complex health regimens possible. Many people with HIV and AIDS find it impossible to continue working as their illness progresses. This can lead to inadequate housing at a time when a clean, quiet and private home environment is more critical than ever to sustaining physical and emotional health.
